High Flyers Soar Through Timms Solicitors’ Pathway Programme

Three young lawyers at Timms have successfully completed the firm’s innovative Pathway to Associate programme – paving the way for further career development.

The ten-month programme has been specially-designed by Timms to help progress individuals into more senior and management roles across its offices in in Derby, Burton, Ashby and Swadlincote.

Those who meet the set criteria can apply to be part of the bi-annual programme which involves internal and external training and development sessions as well as completion of a project of their choice in areas such as finance, marketing, HR and people management with a focus on improving internal processes that have a positive impact on client care.

The successful graduates are:

  • Family law solicitor Jessica Barnett who is an integral part of the team in Derby - handling complex cases relating to arrangements for the care of children as well as divorce and financial matters for both married and unmarried couples.
  • Wills and Probate solicitor Charlotte Day is based at Timms’ Swadlincote office. Charlotte qualified as a solicitor in 2016 whilst working in London and joined Timms in August 2018.  She is a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and also mentors others across the firm.
  • Burton-based Conveyancer Katie Holmes plays an integral part in training the new Trainee Solicitors in addition to her conveyancing role.  She started working for Timms ten years ago as a legal secretary - progressing to handling her own caseload and being admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in August 2018.

Timms Managing Partner Fiona Moffat explained:

“We have been impressed with the commitment and dedication shown by all three of these young legal professionals who have proved their skills and ambitions to develop their careers with Timms.

“We designed the Pathway Programme to nurture talent within the business and ensure that our legal professionals have a clear light of sight to promotion within the firm.

“We look forward to Jessica, Charlotte and Katie progressing further and embracing the other training and development opportunities that are available to them.”
