Not long left to nominate for Leicestershire Community Awards

There is only one week left to submit nominations for the Leicestershire Community Champions Awards 2022.

Run by the Furnley House Foundation, the awards celebrate the hard work of individuals and organisations who continually go above and beyond. Now in their third year, they specifically recognise those whose work and dedication make a massive difference to the local area but may otherwise go unnoticed.

The Furnley House Foundation was the idea of Furnley House, an award winning independent financial and mortgage adviser, created to improve the lives of those less fortunate.

Nominations are open until Friday 30th September and the categories include:

  • Charity of the Year
  • Charity Employee of the Year
  • Young Fundraiser of the Year
  • Fundraiser of the Year
  • Environmental Project of the Year
  • Community Spirit Business Champion
  • Community Spirit Individual Champion
  • Community Organisation of the Year
  • Tracey Miller Achievement Award

Winners will be announced during an awards evening on Thursday 17th November at Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

Last year, the winner of the headline Charity of the Year category was awarded to The Zinthiya Trust at an evening attended by 150 people.

Simon Winfield, Managing Director of Red Monkey Play and Chairman of the Furnley House Foundation said ‘Each year we see an increasing number of fantastic nominations and support from across the community and businesses which have enabled the Awards to become highly prized and valued by the nominees.

‘Please consider who you can nominate to be a community champion and nominate them, it makes such a difference.’
