London Calling: National comms agency opens Farringdon Office

LEADING full-service communications agency Cartwright Communications has expanded into the capital with the opening of its Farringdon office, following the successful launch of its Birmingham office in Spring.

Cartwright’s London base will be headed up by Helen Ansell, marketing director, alongside Hannah Bullock, PR account manager, as the firm bolsters its service to its existing client base, expands into new markets and continues to build its team around nationally-based talent.

Helen said: “Launching Cartwright in London is a momentous milestone for the agency and strategically positions us to better acquire and support leading clients across property and construction, building products, food and beverage, and healthcare sectors. We’re excited by the capability of a London presence to attract more PR, digital and marketing talent to our expanding team.”

Through increased networking and a refined marketing strategy, Cartwright has already secured three clients with a significant presence in London, construction project management consultancy EDGE, construction social value provider Fortem and international luxury desserts restaurant franchise Heavenly Desserts, who is targeting growth in the capital.

The move also provides enhanced regional support to its existing portfolio of national clients, which includes construction firm Willmott Dixon, framework provider Pagabo, potato grower Branston and major Nottingham city regeneration project The Island Quarter.

Helen will be joined by Hannah Bullock, account manager, who recently returned to Cartwright following two years at a London communications agency, supporting clients at the forefront of the global music technology and gaming industries.

Hannah said:

“I was thrilled to hear that Cartwright was opening a London office and jumped at the chance to return to the brilliant team that provided me with my first career experience in PR out of university. Liz and the team have worked hard to develop a truly unique close-knit culture of care and support and I couldn’t be more excited to help establish the company’s presence in London alongside Helen.”

Having executed global campaigns from a fast-paced agency based in London, Hannah has been able to develop her expertise in account management and become familiar with the demands of clients in the city.

Hannah added:

“As a thriving hub for the capital’s growing businesses, Farringdon is the ideal location from which Helen and I can develop both our client base and team.”

The agency - which is headquartered in Nottingham - was recently ranked sixth place in the small businesses category of the Best Workplace for Women. It was also ranked 34th for B2B and 85th for consumer PR in the prestigious PR Week Top 150 and received Great Place to Work accreditation. Those successes also came hot on the heels of being recognised as a 2022 EMEA Inspiring Workplace.

Liz Cartwright, ex-journalist and managing director who founded Cartwright Communications in 2006, said:

“We have a fantastic ambitious and dynamic agency where strong relationships between the teams and offices are integral to our success, enabling us to consistently punch above our weight and work with internationally-renowned clients across the firm's specialist sectors.
