The four new employees joining the team are Harry Stannard and Ryan Gibson as senior mechanical engineers, Fred Stannard as mechanical associate and Alex Skidmore as electrical director. These key members will offer a technical boost to the four founding company directors and the seven members of staff who have joined since Chord began trading on 1 June.
Harry Stannard said:
“It’s always an adjustment starting a new job and saying goodbye to your teammates but working with old friends at Chord made the transition really smooth - it felt like coming home.”
Fellow engineer Ryan Gibson added:
“It’s been really exciting to get involved at the early stages of the company’s evolution. I’ve worked with Chord’s founders since 2011, so coming to work for the company felt like a reunion of sorts and I can’t wait to get started working with our new clients.”
The burgeoning M&E firm, with over 80 years of combined experience in the industry, focuses on delivering collaborative and practical low-carbon design solutions from their new offices on Canal Street, Nottingham.
Fred Stannard, who joins as an associate, has worked with the Chord director team for over 15 years. Fred said
“I stayed pretty close to the directors who established Chord, so it was great to hear that their workload was escalating so quickly. It’s exciting to be part of a team that feels more like a family, literally for me as I get to work with my younger brother, Harry”.
New associate director Alex Skidmore said:
“I’ve been really impressed by the technical set up that’s already been established here. With the new software systems and standards that have been implemented over the past few months, I was able to hit the ground running as soon as I arrived.”
Director Matt Wrate said:
“We’re so pleased to be able to take on previous colleagues who offer a real wealth of reliable talent at this fast-paced, early stage in our development. The support we’ve received from our industry allies and colleagues in establishing ourselves has been amazing and has enabled us to plan for long-term, sustainable growth as we look ahead to future projects.”
