Edwin James Group strengthens senior team

Asset Engineering specialist, Edwin James Group, has appointed Simon Varo as operations director at group company Parker Technical Services. 

The new role has been created to support growth in traditional facilities maintenance, and the hybrid model that combines building services with more complex process engineering services. Varo will also head up key customer management across the group and support a programme of digital transformation. 

Commenting on the appointment Mark Orpin, COO at Edwin James Group, said,

“Facilities maintenance is a key part of our business. Our hybrid model brings together our group capabilities, across both process and infrastructure engineering, delivering a unified approach to the asset lifecycle that drives greater efficiencies and environmental benefits for our customers.

“I’m really pleased to welcome Simon into this new role; he will be instrumental in helping to deliver the strategic vision for this part of the business. He has a great track record of working in complex environments and that experience is a perfect fit for our customers.”

Simon Varo added,

Varo is a Chartered Engineer (CIBSE) and joins from EMCOR UK, where he worked for 12 years. 

Edwin James Group is a national asset engineering group that operates three brands throughout the UK. It reported resilient performance through the pandemic with a record order book of over £500m. The group recently announced the appointment of David Mallinson into the newly created role of managing director at Musk Process Services.
