Dominic Lister, Funeral Director at A.W. Lymn’s Bingham branch, is thrilled to be a finalist in the AGFD Good Funeral Awards 2022 in the Funeral Director of the Year category. He joined the company in 2009 and has worked for the fifth-generation family firm for over 13 years.
The Association of Green Funeral Directors will be hosting the AGFD Good Funeral Awards 2022 at The Crazy Bear hotel, in Stadhampton, Oxford. The event will take place on 24 September and is set to celebrate the work of outstanding employees within the funeral service industry.
Dominic was nominated for being an outstanding Funeral Director, known for delivering funerals with care, compassion, and expert organisation.
Dominic said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted in these prestigious awards – it is a true honour and a real ‘pinch-me’ moment! I can’t thank my colleagues and the Directors at A.W. Lymn enough for giving me the opportunity to shine in my role, develop my skills and hone my offering to customers at every turn, so that I have the time and resource to treat each individual family with the respect and attention they deserve.”
The Good Funeral Awards have been unable to hold a face-to-face event since before the pandemic in 2019. As a result, they have promised that the ceremony for 2022 will be bigger and better than ever, with sponsors helping them to deliver a truly excellent event for the industry.
Nominations will recognise those who have delivered exceptional service, launched a new product or service, or gone above and beyond within their roles.
Dominic, who has been shortlisted alongside eight other Funeral Directors, added:
“It will be a real pleasure to attend the event, representing A.W. Lymn, and I’m excited to congratulate all of the winners at the final.
“With the support of A.W. Lymn and my colleagues, I strive to be the best funeral director for the local community, providing support for families throughout some of their most challenging times.”
Five years ago, A.W. Lymn entered the awards, nominating Louise Cook, Funeral Director at the business’s Long Eaton branch, who has worked for the company since 2003, for over 19 years. Her service within the industry was highly commended.
Dominic will find out on the day if he has won the award.
Jackie Lymn Rose, Director at A.W. Lymn, will be attending the awards alongside Dominic, and said:
“We are incredibly proud of Dominic for being shortlisted for such an important award. His work within the community is incredibly commendable, and I am really pleased to be attending the ceremony with him on behalf of the whole company.
“Everyone at A.W. Lymn will be cheering Dominic on to win this very special award, but regardless, he is already a winner to us, and such a fantastic, supportive, and kind funeral director who is highly regarded by so many families within the community.”
