Both BIDs are teaming up with LoyalFree, the UK’s no1 app for finding exclusive local deals, to give shoppers the opportunity to unlock special deals from shops, cafés, restaurants and bars in the Cathedral Quarter and St. Peters Quarter.
In addition to money saving deals, the app will give visitors the chance to discover new interactive trails, find local events and even enter exclusive competitions in the area.
Once downloaded onto their smartphones, shoppers and visitors will have access to a host of individual offers and discounts by way of a simple QR code scan, allowing them to make the most of their shopping experience, whilst supporting local businesses.
As an added incentive, once users have downloaded the app, they can enter competitions run by each BID. The lucky winner of the St Peters Quarter BID competition will receive the Ryder Package at indoor golf venue House of Holes. The Cathedral Quarter BID prizes come from local businesses, Everyman Barbers and Milk & Honey Deli.
The new app is aimed at providing shoppers with all the information they need to get the very best from their visits to the two Business Improvement Districts, whilst giving local stores, cafes, restaurants, and businesses the opportunity to increase shoppers’ awareness of their offerings.
Several exciting interactive trails are already live on the app, with more to come. Users can choose from the Cafe Culture Trail and History Trail in the Cathedral Quarter, as well as The Poetry Trail and Ale Trail in St Peters Quarter.
Brad Worley, BID Manager for Cathedral Quarter Derby and St Peters Quarter Derby, is excited at this chance to support both visitors and BID levy payers at the same time; “With such pressures on household budgets right now, it’s great to be able to help visitors to the two BID areas make their money go further, and it’s also a marvellous opportunity for businesses in these two vibrant areas of Derby to showcase their offerings to a wider audience.
“A lot of our businesses benefit from their own loyalty schemes so to be able to offer a digital platform that needs no training and is completely free to our levy paying businesses is a brilliant opportunity. As we develop the app further the trails that we are able to add to get people moving around our city is the bit that really excites me, so it really is worth downloading and getting involved,” he adds.
James Hurdis from Derby business Canopy, a BID levy payer in the Cathedral Quarter, echoes this sentiment. “This is a fantastic initiative, and we can’t wait to welcome users of the LoyalFree app into our store. We’ve already added an exclusive offer which will be available on the app and look forward to seeing it develop over time.
As an added bonus, every time a shopper collects a loyalty stamp via the app, LoyalFree will donate 1p to charity, meaning that shoppers can give while they save.
The app is free to register and use and can be downloaded here https://www.loyalfree.co.uk/
