Digital capabilities expand as The Dairy invests in next generation of industry talent

Full-service creative agency The Dairy has further expanded its in-house digital marketing expertise, while supporting the next generation of industry talent, with the appointment of new Digital Marketing Apprentice Lydia Evans.

Partnering with Nottingham College, The Dairy has followed a tried and tested route which saw it hire its Digital Marketing Executive Claudia Wright, five years ago. 

The Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship paves the way for candidates to work in industry while securing their qualification before choosing if they wish to complete a Level 6 degree alongside their full-time role.

The Dairy has already enjoyed success with this model after hiring Claudia Wright as a Digital Marketing Apprentice in 2017. Claudia completed her Level 3 qualification in 2019 before being promoted to the position of Digital Marketing Executive. She now leads the agency’s digital marketing services - advising clients on their strategies - and is due to complete her Level 6 degree in Digital Marketing later this year.

Lydia joins The Dairy having previously completed a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma through Nottingham College in Fashion Business and Fashion Retail. Digital marketing was always a passion for Lydia and a career path that really appealed to her creative skillset. Once she saw that The Dairy was hiring for a new apprentice through the College, she very quickly made the decision to apply.

“Digital marketing is such a fast paced growing area, and I’ve always had a passion for it. I’ve use many of the tools in previous jobs as well as during my previous Nottingham College course,”

She continues, “I wanted to work in an industry where I can be creative and make a difference for brands and with The Dairy being such a reputable agency, it was an easy decision to apply. I’m just excited to learn as much as I can from the experienced team and begin working through my qualification.”

The Dairy is a full-service creative agency situated in Nottingham’s suburb of West Bridgford. Its team of nine supports clients across the UK with their marketing strategies - while also delivering the full spectrum of marketing tactics including content marketing, graphic design, branding, web, PR and digital marketing.

For company Director Tom Walters, taking the apprenticeship path was the only way to go after enjoying success previously - with the agency’s future recruitment strategy targeted on developing young talent.

It’s often the first conversation we have with new brands we speak to,”

We’ve invested in new technology to help us upscale our processes and procedures to the benefit of our clients, and hiring a new Digital Marketing Apprentice was the next step in our growth plan,” adds Tom.

He continues, “Lydia perfectly compliments the team with her positive attitude, professionalism and warm personality. She’s hungry to learn and keen to develop her skills. With Claudia and Lydia working together to advise clients on their digital marketing strategies, I’m confident we have the necessary building blocks in place to continue to go from strength to strength. We will certainly be looking to invest in up-and-coming talent again in the future across other areas."
