Innovative East Midlands engineering firm welcomes trio of latest recruits

Dynamic engineering firm Hexa Consulting has welcomed three new starters, as it continues to expand the team and bolster its rapid and strategic growth.

Chloe Whitnell, Gethin Jones and Ricardo Vendone all bring fresh experience into the business across their respective specialisms to deliver on clients’ objectives across a range of sectors.

Gethin Jones spotted an opportunity to progress his career and joins Hexa as a senior technician. His role involves technical drawing packs for clients, including technical designs and 3D modelling for residential, industrial and public sector schemes.

He said:

“I’m pleased to be joining the senior design team at Hexa, putting me in an environment where I can learn from those around me and continue developing my skills. I've jumped straight in and had the chance to look at some small industrial sites and a new leisure centre with Hexa, which have both been a fun challenge to design. I’m looking forward to getting more involved in drainage design, as well as running and managing my own projects.”

Another senior appointment sees Ricardo Vendone joining as a senior engineer. His previous roles include project management at Severn Trent Services (STS), and as a design and project engineer for a range of civil engineering consultancies. Having worked on an array of schools and multi-storey accommodation developments, including Freeman’s Common student accommodation village, Ricardo brings experience of the entire process from planning to construction to this new role.

Following a year of on-site management with STS, Ricardo has joined HexaeHe to rejoin the design and consultancy arena. He said:

“I was drawn to Hexa because of its great community of people, and I am looking forward to resuming my work on the design side. My role will involve producing strategies, designs, models and reports for drainage and infrastructure, across various sectors such as educational, residential, commercial and industrial.”

Finally, kickstarting her career, Chloe Whitnell joins as a graduate transport planner, having completed a degree in geography in 2021 followed by a graduate program with DHL Aviation. She said:

“When I met with the team at Hexa, I felt they could offer me the expertise and support to help me in my goals of becoming a transport planner.

“I have already been introduced to working with AutoCAD, TRICs assessments and some of the government guidelines that are followed when writing reports. I’m really looking forward to learning everything there is to know about transport planning and developing my professional career, becoming independent and eventually having my own projects.

“The company has been very supportive and accommodating so far, and I am pleased to be working with people who want to see me develop in my career.”

Since kicking off the business in 2020, Hexa has experienced rapid, organic growth, building a multi-disciplinary team of 26 with a range of skills and experiences.

David Strong at Hexa, said:

“It’s great to be able to not only expand the business, but build for the future, especially within our graduate employees. I’m delighted to welcome Chloe, Gethin and Ricardo to the team, as well as everyone that has joined Hexa since we started this journey.

“At Hexa, we take pride in recruiting people who showcase great skills and experience, and also have the potential to grow with us. We value those who share our ethos of prioritising clients, delivering on sustainability and harnessing the latest technology and methods to drive the company forward. I look forward to seeing how our new starters develop and encourage anyone else with an interest in seeing what we offer, to get in touch.”
