Dancing Diggers! Revesby Country Fair is back for 2022

Dancing Diggers to headline the family favourite event which returns this summer after two-year break

One of Lincolnshire’s oldest events, Revesby Country Fair, is back for 2022 with its best-ever lineup of live entertainment, activities and country pursuits.

After being postponed in 2020 and 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s show will return on Sunday 7th August, taking over the historic grounds of Revesby Estate with its biggest ever offering.

There’s a packed schedule of attractions and ‘have a go’ hobbies for all the family to try, as well as more than 200 trade stands expected, all celebrating the best crafts, food and drink that Lincolnshire has to offer.

This year, for the first time, visitors can make a weekend of it by camping out on the estate’s panoramic parkland or take part in the inaugural ‘Race the Estate’; a series of running races for all ages and abilities.

Visitors can also try their hand at clay pigeon shooting, flower arranging, climbing and much more.

There will be a wealth of judged produce, cooking and flower competitions, which anyone can enter, as well as live music to entertain revellers as they enjoy the food and trade stands. This year, crowds will be dazzled by the synchronised stylings of the JCB Dancing Diggers.

From Harry Trotter to Wool-i-Ham, Tom Hogg will be showcasing his rare breeds of talented performing pigs in an experience that’s sure to be as entertaining as it is educational in The Hogg Show.

There will also be a live demonstration from David Seamark, renowned arable farmer and sheep herder, who will give an exciting insight into the daily life of a sheep dog and how they hone their skills - with children being invited into the main ring to participate.

Revesby regulars can enjoy return of the vintage tractors and classic cars in this year’s programme, as well as all the traditional equine favourites such as show jumping, shire horses and mounted fancy dress.

Runners will also be able to tackle the first ever ‘Race The Estate’, a series of running races organised by local organisers Trident Sports.

Suitable for any experience level, race distances include a half marathon and 10km course around the historic parklands, as well as a junior 5km and 2.5km event for the whole family.

Dog lovers can also bring their well-behaved, four-legged friends and get them involved in dog agility events and dog shows. Of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without the traditional ‘Revesby style’ terrier racing!

John Roe, chairman of Revesby Country Fair, said:

“After a difficult couple of years, I’m thrilled to say that the Revesby Country Fair is back for 2022, bigger and better than ever.

“They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder - so we hope this year’s show will be jam-packed with visitors! It’s going to be a fantastic family day out, with the very best that Lincolnshire has to offer. We’ll be celebrating the talent of local crafts, cuisines and countryside pursuits, as well as the return of the Dancing Diggers. I encourage everyone to book their tickets now for this highlight of the summer season.”

This year, visitors will be treated to a special display for families to enjoy: the JCB Dancing Diggers. The carefully choreographed spectacle will show that precision, as well as power, is needed to operate these machines - which are integral to Lincolnshire and its rich agricultural heritage.

Tickets for Revesby Country Fair 2022 are on sale now - Tickets are priced at £12.50 for adults, £4 for children and £30 for a family of 2 adults and up to 3 children. Under 5s go free.
