Northamptonshire housebuilder donates £500 to children's hospice

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, a charity that supports children and young people with life-limiting conditions, has received £500 from Northamptonshire homebuilder David Wilson Homes.

Located in Loughborough in Leicestershire, Rainbows Hospice provides end of life, palliative, and respite care for over 300 children, young people and their families across the East Midlands.

The charity helps children to enjoy precious moments whilst going through a difficult time, and supports families through each stage of their difficult journey.

Emily Wright, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Rainbows Hospice, said:

“On behalf of Rainbows Hospice, I would like to say a massive thank you to David Wilson Homes for their kind donation.

“The donation will go towards helping us to provide care and support to over 300 children, young people, and their families across the East Midlands who need us.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has been really tough for us, we faced a shortfall in income because we were been forced to close our five shops across the East Midlands. Alongside this, mass participation events were cancelled and we were unable to hold any fundraising events.

“However, we are really proud to be able to support the NHS in looking after children and young people from Leicester’s Children’s Hospital to help relieve strains on the NHS when they needed it most.

“It is wonderful to see local businesses supporting charities like ours, it is especially touching given the past year or so that companies are still thinking of us.”

John Dillon, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said:

“We are really pleased to be able to support Rainbows Hospice and to help them continue the vital work they do.

“During what has been a tough time for everyone, it is important to us as a leading housebuilder to support local charities and organisations that are helping others.”
