NEXTGEN TURNAROUND COMMITTEE FORMED WITH EAST MIDLANDS EXPERTS AT THE HELM

NEXTGEN TURNAROUND COMMITTEE FORMED WITH EAST MIDLANDS EXPERTS AT THE HELM

A new East-Midlands NextGen committee, tailored to those in the early stages of their career in the turnaround profession, has been formed by the Turnaround Management Association UK (TMA).

The committee will deliver networking and educational opportunities, with promising industry prospects from the region, at the helm.

A global organisation with almost 10,000 members across 54 chapters worldwide, TMA combines worldwide networking while sharing the latest news within business recovery, corporate turnaround, and restructuring.

NextGen committee members are all aged 40 and under and all work for leading turnaround businesses. The new committee will be made up of John Pye’s Hannah Spibey, Mazars’ Edward Hamblin, Interpath’s Rachel Cutts, Eversheds Sutherland’s Meghan Bryson, and PKF Smith Cooper’s Kieran Marshall.

Hannah Spibey, business assets valuer, at John Pye, said:

“I'm so pleased to have been invited to be a part of the formation for the new NextGen committee. Working within the turnaround market for four years now, I have found it difficult to meet other professionals at similar stages in their careers as myself, with most events being aimed at more established professionals. Along with my fellow committee members we hope to provide events that help fill this void.

“We are very excited about our launch event, taking place on Friday 1 July at Trent Bridge during a Notts Outlaws’ T20 cricket match against Durham. The event will be free to attend and includes food and drinks in the stunning Boundary’s Edge suite offering fabulous views across the pitch.”

Director of TMA UK and joint head of business and property at John Pye Auctions, Trevor Palethorpe said:

“Back when I started at John Pye in 1997 there were a whole host of events that young turnaround professionals could attend and it’s just not the case anymore.

“I’m delighted the new committee members have put themselves forward to help change this, and my thanks must also go to their employers for supporting them with this endeavour and giving them the time and resources to get involved.

“The committee’s first event has all the hallmarks of being a great evening. Trent Bridge is a world-class venue and a superb setting for this launch.”

The East Midlands launch will take place on Friday 1 July at Trent Bridge, with proceedings starting at 5.30pm.
