Housebuilder donates £1,000 to primary school PTA in Lutterworth

Housebuilder Mulberry Homes has donated £1,000 to The Friends of John Wycliffe Primary School PTA, as part of its monthly community fund.

The charity is based near the housebuilder’s The Mulberries at Kingsbury Park development in Lutterworth, and is comprised of a group of parent volunteers, who aim to enhance and enrich the education of the pupils at John Wycliffe Primary School.

The PTA hold regular fundraisers to provide new equipment and resources to the school, and also hold special events to allow connection between the parents, the school and the wider community.

Mulberry Homes’ £1,000 donation will help to a fund a brand-new 10-station trim trial and play area surfacing, which the group has been fundraising for since 2019.

The contribution comes as part of The Mulberry Community Chest, in which the developer provides monthly donations to organisations and charities local to its developments. The Friends of John Wycliffe Primary School PTA was selected as the chosen charity for May to receive a donation.

Sarah Read, a representative of The Friends of John Wycliffe Primary School PTA, said:

“The children have been waiting a few years now for new, modern and exciting play equipment, which will be enjoyable and challenging at the same time. The donation will ensure that the pupils and other local groups will benefit from this for years to come.”

Kerry Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Mulberry Homes, said:

“We are delighted to have made this contribution to The Friends of John Wycliffe Primary School PTA, helping them to improve the school’s playground facilities.

“This group does great work in supporting the school and ensuring their children get the best education possible, and that’s something we at Mulberry Homes can get behind. We hope the children have lots of fun in their new play area.”

As part of The Mulberry Community Chest, charities and public organisations local to Mulberry Homes’ developments are invited to apply to receive a one-off donation of £1 to £1,000. Each month, a judging panel will select a beneficiary to secure the requested funding. For more information or to submit an application, visit https://mulberryhomes.co.uk/news/distinctly-local/.
