Marketing bootcamp boosts recruitment at Anicca Digital

Anicca Digital has appointed two new team members to support new client wins and on-going growth following a recruitment bootcamp at its Leicester office.

The pair secured their new roles after attending the five-day digital marketing bootcamp, hosted by the agency.

Demand for bootcamp places was high, with 52 applications submitted for the 13 places available.

The leading digital marketing agency has now welcomed Aneta Kowacka and Baz Keshwala, who have joined the team as Paid Media Executives.

Aneta, who is from Poland, has joined the team after graduating from De Montfort University with a first in BA Marketing Management.

Baz, from Leicester, has joined Anicca Digital following a career switch, having previously worked in the fashion industry as a Senior Print Designer.

The bootcamp is designed to help train the digital marketing experts of the future by providing first-hand experience of paid media tactics, including as Google and Bing Ads.

Candidates are then tasked with developing a paid media campaign for a real world brief.

A government report found 82% of all jobs in the UK list digital skills as a requirement, but 62% admit their workforce only has some of the skills required or face severe shortages, with many struggling to recruit due to a lack of digital competency.

The bootcamp provides a bridge between university learning and the workplace, ensuring delegates gain the skills and experience they need for roles within a marketing agency.

Ann Stanley, CEO & Digital Marketing Consultant at Anicca Digital, comments:

“Our Digital Marketing Bootcamps have proved to be an essential recruitment tool for Anicca as an agency, but they also provide candidates with the opportunity to put their skills to the test and learn from our in-house experts.

“The high number of applications demonstrates the growing interest in careers within digital marketing and we welcomed candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds, not just recent graduates but also individuals looking for a career change or to enhance their skillset.

“Aneta and Baz were stand out candidates throughout the bootcamp and we look forward to helping them develop their digital knowledge further as part of the Anicca team.”

Aneta comments:

“The thing I enjoy most about marketing is its deep connection with psychology and understanding customer behaviour; learning even little bit about marketing makes you realise how our everyday lives are influenced by it.

“I enjoy everything about my new role, and I mean it - I have some background knowledge which I can easily connect to the tasks I'm doing now but also, I'm very new to it and I've realised that everyone who works here wants to share the knowledge and experience that they have gathered over the years.

“Putting marketing to one side, I’ve enjoyed motorcycles since I was seven-years-old, always going somewhere with my dad.

“He's the one whom passion to motorcycles drives mine and, if I learn how to drive on the other side of the road, I'll get one for myself.”

Baz comments:

“Having followed Anicca Digital for several years, I spotted a LinkedIn post about the bootcamp; it was very different in that it welcomed applications from older individuals.

“Being thought leaders within the digital marketing space and having a focus on continuous learning and development were the main reasons I wanted to join Anicca, alongside the inclusive and progressive culture at the heart of the organisation.

“I have a keen interest in all things tech; particularly the way technology can improve people's lives and key processes within business, and I love learning new skills, in fact I am currently working my way through a Full Stack JavaScript curriculum on weekends.”

Due to on-going growth, Anicca Digital is currently recruiting for a number of roles, visit anicca.co.uk/careers-vacancies.

Applications are now open for Anicca Digital’s 12-week Digital Skills Bootcamp, which leads to a Level 5 qualification from the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) and starts in June.

As a D2N2-approved training provider, it is able to provide grants for East Midlands-based learners aged over 19. To apply visit anicca.co.uk/grant-funded-digital-skills-bootcamps.
