Celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford drops in on college students

Hairdresser-to-the-stars Lee Stafford delighted college students and apprentices with a visit to Lincoln College and its city-centre salon - Aura.

The world-famous stylist visited to discuss the college and Aura adopting the Lee Stafford Education Programme to add value to the student experience.

Lee chatted to students, presented to staff and took a tour of the College’s city-centre salon, Aura.

The celebrity-snipper said he was really impressed with the college’s commercial approach.

Lee said:

“The hairdressing industry has been very, very good to me and my purpose now is to send the elevator down for the next generation, so they can have an opportunity to live a life where they follow their passion.

“I’ve come to Lincoln College today to hopefully open up a Lee Stafford Academy with them and I must say they have blown me away.

“Lincoln college has passion, vision and entrepreneurialism that’s on a different level - so I’m very excited and looking forward to working with them.”

Lincoln College Director of Education and Training Julie Sullivan said:

“This was an amazing boost for our staff and students. Lee is a real hero for them and a great role-model in the industry. He loved the fact that our students and apprentices get to progress to work with real clients at Aura and we’re really excited about the possibility of working with him in future.

“We discussed how Lee’s education programme could enhance our training even further, taking advantage of his expert input on a regular basis and placing even more focus on making sure our students are work-ready, confident young people who can really thrive in the industry and build their own businesses when they leave us.”

Lincoln College opened Aura, on the corner of Guildhall Street and Newland in Lincoln in July last year.

Holly Green is a level-3 hairdressing student who works at Aura as part of her course.

“I’m very excited today that Lee Stafford’s here and it’s a great opportunity to find out more about getting into the industry and what it’s like to be out in the big wide world,” she said.

“Being at Aura is really helpful in terms of working with real clients, building our confidence and experiencing things that you couldn’t on a normal course. It’s great to work in a real environment and have the support of the staff too.”
