A Bumper First Year for The Digital Maze

With growth set to continue for the East Midlands start-up as they move into Q2 of 2022.

Newly formed digital agency group, The Digital Maze, are celebrating a bumper first year with record new business wins, retention and a vastly increased headcount.

The Digital Maze was launched at the beginning of 2021 which saw three East Midlands digital agencies come together under the group -Boom Online Marketing, Frogsparkand Evolve Trader. Heading up the group is Ian Lancaster and the founders of Frogspark, Rob Twells and Liam Nelson.

The past year has seen a huge number of new and diverse partnerships formed, with over 60 new clients for the group -with the likes of Derby City Council, Burton Albion FC, Castle Rock Brewery, Ewemove, Carfulan and PKF Francis Clark taking SEO, PPC & web development services.

To keep up with growth goals, The Digital Maze has added more than 10 new members to the team this past year -spanning SEO, PPC & technical. The growth of these departments has been facilitated by a new leadership team, with Maxi Ayres as Finance Director, Wayne Baker as Marketing Director, Liam Nelson as Client Director and Rob Twells as Commercial Director.

Year Two Off to a Great Start for The Digital Maze.

Rob Twells, Co-Founder & Commercial Director said:

“It’s been a fast paced, fun and sometimes stressful year where I’ve learnt a lot. Mergers and acquisitions are difficult at the best of times, nevermind during a pandemic whilst the vast majority of the team are working remotely.

We’re intent on being here for the long haul, and for us to work through this whilst also onboarding new clients and team members has been incredible to watch. The first quarter of 2022 has so far seen a 37% increase in new client wins and a 32% year on year increase in the number of staff at The Digital Maze, which is testament to all the hard work that’s been put in by the team over the past year.

It’s a great step in the right direction for our mission, which is ultimately to become a nationally recognised agency and a go-to employer for people keen to develop their skills, where being proud of the company they’re a part of truly matters. With transparent top level expertise as our driving force, we’re very keen to ensure we represent excellent value for money and provide superior ROI for our customers.”

The group has also expanded their service offering, placing more focus on content marketing and digital PR by forming a new team, which is led by Amy Hunt followinga promotion.

Amy Hunt, Head of Digital PR said:

“Creative content and link building has been a big passion of mine for a long time. With that, being part of something bigger and being able to play an integral part in growing the team, and vision as a whole, has been a dream come true.

Despite the weird times we find ourselves in, having the freedom and opportunity to dig much deeper into the creative digital PRside of thingshas enabled us to work on more diverse projects over the last year -delivering some fabulous results that I’m extremely proud to have been a part of. We have some big plans for the rest of 2022, so I’m excited to see where it takes us!”

Future Plans for The Digital MazeThe group currently employs over 50 people and has no plans to slow down as they head into the next phase of 2022. With the recent appointment of two new Business Development Managers and a number of roles currently availablespanning digital marketing, project management and web development, the growth of the group is set to continue at a rapid rate.
