Everyone’s a winner at this year’s East Midlands Finance Awards

After an enforced two-year break, Distinct Recruitment has announced that the East Midlands Finance Awards will be taking place again this year and will be bigger and better than ever.

Staged at the Nottingham Contemporary on 14th July 2022, the Awards recognise finance professionals in the East Midlands who have delivered a stand-out service both for their own business and clients.

This year’s event is extra special as it recognises the hard work and commitment shown by all those working in finance during the coronavirus pandemic. With Covid and the resulting furlough scheme the finance sector has faced two of the toughest years in its history. Learning new ways of working whilst also juggling the uncertainty put a huge strain on finance teams, so the Awards will be a true celebration of resilience and professionalism.

Distinct’s UK Director of Operations and Head of Finance recruitment, Ryan Jaiswal commented:

“The East Midlands Finance Awards are designed by Accountancy & Finance professionals, for Accountancy & Finance professionals, making the accolades given very significant. This year, we also want to celebrate the strength and resilience of the whole sector and especially recognise teams and individuals with the East Midlands Finance Awards.”

Along with Ryan Jaiswal, UK Growth & Strategy Director, Executive Finance Recruiter Alex Alcock is managing the event and adds:

“Finance teams have had to navigate everything from furlough schemes to tight reporting deadlines, coupled with teams scuppered by remote working, home schooling and isolation challenges. We join with others to champion these teams and the incredible hard work from individuals.”

Distinct has introduced two new categories this year: Accountancy Practice of the Year and Finance Team of the Year (less than 10 staff). They join the following categories at the event which will be held at the Nottingham Contemporary:

  • Finance Team of the Year (more than 10 staff)
  • Finance Leader of the Year
  • Rising Star

Distinct is thrilled to be joined by gold medallist gold medallist Olympian Ed Clancy and his mentor Phil Kelly from the Pro-Noctis Group who will be speaking at the Awards.

After checking the guidelines, entries can be made by downloading an application form hosted on the Awards site. The event prides itself of celebrating the talent found within the East Midlands and carries this theme across the evening, serving locally sourced food and drink, plus supporting regional entertainment providers.

The East Midlands Finance Awards take place on July 14th, and deadline for entries is the 1st of April. More information on the categories is available online via
