Europa Road Strengthens its Management Team in Corby

Europa Road Strengthens its Management Team in Corby

Northamptonshire-based logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group has sped into 2022 with renewed impetus to further expand its European road freight division, Europa Road.

For Europa Road’s branch in Corby, this means that a new Regional Manager and an Acting Branch Manager are now in post. Both will be based at Midlands Logistics Park, Unit 2, Plantation Lane, Corby, and will form part of the 300 strong team of staff who work there.

Europa has set out dynamic growth plans which reflect the Group’s determination to set the pace in the market, take bold steps to drive out complexity, and break through the £400m turnover target.

The promotion last autumn of Adrian Redmile, Branch Network and Sales Director, kickstarted Europa Road’s largest ever team and network restructuring and investment programme. His vision is to increase the Road Account Manager Sales Team at the European road freight division by Spring 2022 to 80.

Now, a new regional structure has just been launched. This includes the creation of a third regional manager role, covering the Midlands area of the UK, in addition to existing positions for the North and South. The requirement for a third regional manager role reflects the ongoing expansion of Europa Road’s footprint across all parts of the UK.

Jamie Hedgecox has been appointed as the new Regional Manager - Central - and Corby falls within his patch. He will work closely with Samantha Stockley who has been appointed as Acting Branch Manager for Corby.

Both were internal candidates whose progression within the business exemplifies Europa’s passion to recruit from within and offer superb career prospects at all levels. Each has a wealth of previous experience to also draw upon, having previously held roles with other global logistics providers.

Progress is on track to meet Europa Road’s 50 per cent expansion goal with the appointments of Jamie and Samantha, alongside other concurrent internal promotions.

As well as increasing headcount, Europa Road has recently announced exciting plans to broaden its UK branch network in 2022. This builds on major investments made in recent years to increase the firm’s local presence and set up a dedicated freight forwarding team.

Commenting on Europa Road’s strategic growth objectives, Adrian Redmile, Branch Network and Sales Director, said:

“Our commercial forecasts identified the need to build on our market strengths so we can ensure our finger is on the pulse and that we are responsive to customer needs.

“That’s why Europa Road’s organisational restructure and investment is so significant. The objective is to take a radical, decentralised approach, delivering local support to meet local supply chain requirements; something that is particularly important following the economic shocks of Covid and Brexit.

“Customers want a single point of contact and a personal service which is flexible, responsive and agile. Our Road Account Manager and branch model centers on this tailored approach. We want to secure trust in our services and expand our loyal customer base with a growing number of business transactions.

“Building a high performing team is vital at what is undoubtedly a dynamic and exciting time for the business. I am delighted with these recent appointments and look forward to collaborating with Jamie and Samantha and wider team to deliver on our ambitions.”

Europa’s latest financial figures shows continued robust growth across the Group, despite the challenges of recent times. A record turnover of £210m for 2020, with target projections of £260m for 2021 and £300m this year, was reported in November. £10m profit is also expected for 2021, £6.4m up on 2020 levels.

Europa Worldwide Group is going from strength to strength, and recently featured in The Sunday Times Profit Track 100 2021, which ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the fastest-growing profits (over their latest three years).
