Housebuilder donates £1,000 to Northamptonshire children’s charity

Housebuilder donates £1,000 to Northamptonshire children’s charity

Sport4Fitness provide sports activities to children and young persons with a disability and/or special need across Northampton and beyond.

They provide a wide range of activities, and often work with other local groups and organisations in the county to make sure they can provide the best experience possible for the children that attend.

The £1,000 donation from Mulberry Homes, who is building homes close by at its Steeple View Chase development in nearby Irchester, will go towards making sure the services that Sport4Fitness provide remain free for the children.

Steve Rockall, Administrator and Fundraiser at Sport4Fitness, said: “We’re really delighted to have been awarded a £1,000 donation from Mulberry Homes.

“It will enable us to run twelve one-hour weekly sessions during 2022, providing sport and other activities, such as gardening or cooking classes, to children and young persons with a disability and/or a special need, and to home educated children.

“The donation will also go towards arranging wellbeing sessions for some of the older members of the community, or to provide some activities for young carers, giving them the opportunity for a break from their caring responsibilities.

“Financial support such as this donation allows us to support some of those who most need some help, particularly as a result of the Covid pandemic. Thank you, Mulberry Homes!”

Kerry Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Mulberry Homes, said: “We’re so excited to be able to support Sport4Fitness. They do so much for the local Northamptonshire community, and we’re delighted to be helping them continue the good work they do.

“We hope that the £1,000 contribution helps them keep their activities going as the spring and summer months approach, and as they increase the frequency of their activities to make the most of that beautiful weather.

“We’re very proud to have made this donation as part of The Mulberry Community Chest, and are thrilled that it will be such a huge help!”

As part of The Mulberry Community Chest, charities and public organisations local to Mulberry Homes’ developments are invited to apply to receive a one-off donation of £1 to £1,000. Each month, a judging panel will select a beneficiary to secure the requested funding.

Steeple View Chase is a stunning collection of three, and four-bedroom homes, along with two-bedroom bungalows, situated off Farndish Road.
