BAR IS SET HIGH FOR RETURN OF LOUGHBOROUGH SCHOOLS FOUNDATION’S LIVE CONCERT AT DE MONTFORT HALL

Loughborough Schools Foundation Private Schools UK | Loughborough Schools Foundation is fine tuning plans for the return of its Spring Concert at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall.

The annual concert, set to take place at 7pm on Saturday 12 March, will mark the Foundation’s full return to in-person musical events and will play host to the Foundations’ most advanced ensembles as well as providing every Year 7 pupil in the three senior schools with the opportunity to sing in the massed choir of pupils, staff and alumni.

Over many years, this event has offered spectators the opportunity to see and hear the wealth of musical ability on display across the Foundation of Schools.

Among the performances included in the line-up will be a massed performance of George Frideric Handel’s rousing Coronation Anthems from 1727; Zadok the Priest, My Heart is Inditing and The King Shall Rejoice.

Commenting on its return to the events calendar, Nicky Bouckley, Director of Music at Loughborough Schools Foundation, said:

“We’re delighted to be preparing for our 2022 Spring Concert at the prestigious De Montfort Hall. Not only will this be a celebration for our hard-working and talented pupils, this year’s concert is our opportunity to rejoice at the triumphant return of live music. Something many of us, including myself, have missed deeply.

“Over the last two years, we’ve all been deprived of the enjoyment of attending events like these. The return of the Spring Concert is particularly poignant for me and my team too, since it was the last concert that our musicians performed before the country went into full lockdown in March 2020.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and teachers and the high standards are a culmination of their commitment and dedication to their musical performance. For those attending this year’s Spring Concert, we hope that this will be a very warm welcome back to live music and we look forward to bringing you more musical events during the course of this year.”

Later in the year, Loughborough Schools Music
