Nottingham businesses raise £19k for children's charity

An incredible £19,000 has been raised for Nottinghamshire charity Young Lives vs Cancer thanks to the generosity of the East Midlands property and construction professionals taking part in the annual charity event Nottingham Hot Property.

Held at PRYZM on 2 December, the popular event saw leading professionals from across the region take to the stage to raise thousands of pounds to support vulnerable youngsters.

Young Lives vs Cancer helps children, young people, and their families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them and works hard to provide support that is easy to access and meets individual needs. Billy’s House, located next to Queen’s Medical Centre, is part of this support and is a free place for families to stay when their child is going through cancer treatment.

Max Baker, fundraising engagement manager (East Midlands) at Young Lives vs Cancer, said:

“It was just incredible to hear the news that Nottingham Hot Property had raised an amazing £19,000 from its music event.

“Thanks to the organisers, and everyone who supported the event, more children, young people, and families will be able to stay at Billy’s House, helping families avoid the extra financial burdens of travel, accommodation and food costs and keep the family together at a difficult time.

“We rely entirely on donations to fund our vital work and this amazing contribution could pay for 500 nights of accommodation for families. We can’t thank the Hot Property heroes enough for their fantastic support.”

Hot Property – which is in its seventeenth year – has now raised in excess of £314,000 for children’s charities across the East Midlands.

Ash Cowdrey, Hot Property trustee and organiser, said:

“I’m blown away by the amount we raised this year – it’s been a tough eighteen months for many people and businesses so the fact that everyone dug deep and donated a total of £19,000 is just incredible.

“Supporting Young Lives vs Cancer has been really rewarding as the team do some remarkable work for youngsters across the region. Working with Max and the charity to support the great work they are doing has ensured that the return of Hot Property – since its one-year hiatus – is even more special.

“I’d also like to say a huge thanks to our kind sponsors and, in particular, our project partners Cartwright Communications, Confetti Media Group, Ginger Root, and RizkMcCayTribe as the event just wouldn’t happen without them. As a charity, we’re so grateful for the continued support of our partners as they generously dedicate their time, resources, and services to ensure Hot Property is a success.

“We’re already planning this year’s event, so roll on Nottingham Hot Property 2022!”

The sponsors for this year’s event included Pagabo and Pulse Consult as headline sponsors as well as CPMG, CPW, Faithful+Gould, Overbury, Pick Everard, Samclo, and Shakespeare Martineu. Joining these were: PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency RizkMcCayTribe, design and print agency Ginger Root, Confetti Media Group, and the event’s media partner The Business Desk.
