Love Business unveils Help the Homeless Leicester as latest charity partner

An organisation which works tirelessly to help homeless people and rough sleepers on the streets of Leicester has become the latest charity partner of this year’s Love Business Expo.

Help the Homeless Leicester & UK provides a range of support services to homeless people in the city, including weekly meals, changes of clothing, finding furniture and other important items for struggling families, and helping rough sleepers get off the streets and into homes.

It was set up in 2018 by Arif Voraji, to help homeless people transform their lives, with the ultimate aim of eradicating rough sleeping in the city.

Arif and his team provide support to homeless people from all walks of life, from rough sleepers and families being evicted from their homes to released prisoners and people with no fixed address. They work closely with Leicester City Council and other local partners to help get people into accommodation and access the support and services they need to start rebuilding their lives.

The charity also hosts a weekly event where people can come for a hot meal.

Over the past 12 months, the charity has helped get 190 rough sleepers into suitable accommodation based on their individual needs. It has more than 20,000 followers on social media and is supported by a wide range of local businesses and organisations, including East Midlands Chamber, several local authorities, and retailers including Asda, Greggs, M&S and Tesco.

Arif said:

“We’re delighted to be teaming up with Love Business as a charity partner and look forward to exhibiting at this year’s event.

“We provide so many services to local homeless people and Love Business will help us to raise our profile further among the local business community.

“We’re reliant on the support we receive from our generous sponsors and partners, as well as donations from individuals and businesses, and are always open to discussions with any potential partners about how we may be able to work together to help them achieve their CSR objectives.

“So, pay our stand a visit on the day to understand more about what we do and the people we help, and how your business can get involved.”

One way local businesses can get involved is by joining the charity’s 2020 Club. It costs £500 a year to join, with all proceeds supporting the charity’s work and activities on the ground. 2020 Club members also get invited to two networking events each year. As part of Love Business’ support this year, we’ve donated a free exhibition stand to Help the Homeless Leicester & UK and will help to promote the charity via our various communications channels.

Phil Megson, director of Love Business founder Quiet Storm Solutions, said:

“Supporting local charities and good causes across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire is a key part of what Love Business is all about, so we’re delighted to have Arif and his team on board as one of our charity partners this year.

“Help the Homeless Leicester & UK does vital work to help so many people who have fallen on tough times to turn their lives around and leave the streets behind.

“We’d urge all visitors to this year’s Love Business to support this extremely worthy organisation, so it can continue to deliver its services to the people who need it most.”
