Local homebuilder supports NHS workers in Worksop this Christmas

Local homebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West is spreading some festive joy by supporting NHS workers near its Gateford Manor development in Worksop this Christmas.

With many frontline workers unable to spend Christmas with their families, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has contributed a £200 prize to Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital’s advent calendar. The contribution is a way of thanking teams for their hard work and sacrifice throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

The prize consists of a £200 voucher to be used at Joro, a Michelin awarded Bib Gourmand holding restaurant which one lucky member of staff will draw from the advent calendar this festive season.

As well as supporting Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands has donated over £950 worth of Christmas hampers to four further NHS organisations and has donated £1,650 to homeless charities across the region this festive period.

On the donation, Suzy Brain England OBE, Chair of the Board at DBTH, said:

“This is a wonderful donation and one which will be very much appreciated by our lucky winner. Since March 2020, colleagues have worked so hard and we cannot thank them enough. The dedication, perseverance and can-do attitude shown by everyone in the Trust has been exemplary. As we head  into another difficult winter period, we wanted to ensure that staff knew just how much we appreciate their work.

“The support we have been shown by our local partners has been heart-warming. On behalf of Team DBTH, I want to thank Barratt for this kind gift and wish the Barratt Team a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”

Darren Johnson, Construction Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West commented:

“We are thrilled to have been able to contribute towards Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital’s advent calendar, a fantastic activity to get their team into the festive spirit.

“NHS workers have made a huge sacrifice over the last year and continue to do so, with many missing Christmas with their families to care for others. We hope that the lucky winner enjoys this prize and we wish everyone at the hospital a very Merry Christmas.”
