COMMS AGENCY BRINGS CHRISTMAS SPIRIT TO LOCAL HOMELESSNESS CHARITY

Marketing, PR and digital agency Cartwright Communications has been spreading some festive cheer in its hometown this Christmas, by giving back to local charity, Emmanuel House.

The independent organisation based in the heart of Nottingham supports homeless, vulnerable and isolated adults year-round. To get into spirit of the season, the team at Cartwright has generously gifted a Christmas tree to the support centre in Hockley, along with £300 worth of essential clothing items for people who use Emmanuel House.

Rose Hayes, director at Cartwright Communications, said:

“Supporting important causes in our local community is something close to all our hearts as a city centre based business – we know winter and Christmas can be particularly tough for some of the most vulnerable people.

“The service provided by Emmanuel House is truly amazing so we were more than happy to able to help both the charity and its beneficiaries in some way.”

Within the company’s wider CSR efforts, employees of the agency have also donated toys, food, clothes and money as part of a community fundraising appeal by Switch Up. The city-based CIC launched its drive to help families facing financial struggles across Nottingham in the run up to the festive season, to ensure no one goes without.

Switch Up, and its sister organisation Nottingham School of Boxing helps young people from the city who may be struggling with their mental health and at risk of criminal behaviour.

Lauren Howatson, marketing and fundraising officer at Emmanuel House, said:

“We are so grateful for the generosity and support of Cartwright Communications.

“Winter is a particularly tough time for the people that we support, and the donation of a Christmas tree really helps to provide a sense of community and ‘home’ in our support centre.

“We’d like to thank them also for their donation of clothes for our beneficiaries. Being able to provide clean and dry clothes to people who are rough sleeping or newly homeless is really important for their wellbeing. Thank you.”
