The Glow Room illuminates Christmas at Victoria Centre

30,000 lights have been switched on, unveiling Victoria Centre’s most magical Christmas experience to date.

The Glow Room will be at the Nottingham shopping centre until 9 January offering a free, immersive festive light experience.

Weaving their way through an enchanted forest, visitors will be treated to a visual light performance set to a new story, especially written for Victoria Centre by local author Jamie Croshaw. Featuring a shy little bird called Robin, the tale focuses on his attempts to find his singing voice and bring Christmas spirit to the people of Nottingham.

The Glow Room is open daily from 11am and is free to visit, with shoppers invited to make donations to Victoria Centre’s charity of the year, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

Speaking at the launch of The Glow Room, Nigel Wheatley, centre director at Victoria Centre, said:

“This was a Christmas light switch on with a difference. We’re thrilled that The Glow Room is now officially open and welcoming families. Our first visitors have loved the way the lights interact with Jamie’s story and I’ve already seen plenty of selfies appearing on social media.

“Our experience team have excelled themselves this year and I’d love to invite everyone to take 20 minutes, escape from the real world and enjoy the magic of Christmas in The Glow Room.”

Performances take place every half hour from 11am, with visitors being advised to pre-book via the Victoria Centre website
