As 2021 draws to a close, it’s fair to say it’s been another strange 12 months.
We started the year in lockdown, and with new variants of coronavirus continuing to create uncertainty, it’s hard to say what the future might hold.
With restrictions only lifting fully in the summer, 2021 accelerated the need for most businesses to rethink, restyle and refocus as they continue to get to grips with an ever-changing ‘new normal’.
However, one thing many businesses across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire have shown throughout the pandemic is resilience. That fierce determination to plough ahead in the face of adversity and never give up.
It’s that spirit that will stand the Heart of the Midlands – which these three counties proudly represent – in good stead as we move into 2022 and beyond.
Sadly, there wasn’t a physical Love Business Expo in 2021. Ongoing social distancing restrictions at the time made it all but impossible.
However, we’re delighted to be back, bigger than better than ever, in 2022, with an event to mark the ten-year anniversary of Love Business.
Taking place on Thursday, 17 February at Holywell Park Conference Centre, Loughborough, Love Business 2022 is set to attract hundreds of exhibitors, thousands of delegates and dozens of high-profile partners.

Several organisations from across the region have already pledged their support, including our longstanding headline sponsor East Midlands Chamber and our partners KuKu Connect, Mocha Communicates, Hardy Signs, Dpi, Your It Department, the Cyber Resilience Centre, Fancy Entertainment, the Institute of Directors, the Federation of Small Businesses and the Midlands Engine Investment Fund.
Most of the stands have already been booked, so if you’re looking to get 2022 underway with a bang, we’d advise you to reserve yours now to avoid disappointment.
The agenda for the day is being finalised, but visitors can expect the usual action-packed mix of business success stories, insight from local and national business and political leaders, and advice from industry experts across a wide range of business sectors.
We’re so proud of what Love Business has become, from its humble beginnings at Donington Park, in 2012, to the region’s biggest annual B2B expo.
Over the years, the event has had a hugely positive impact on the economy and the community in the East Midlands, providing an excellent platform for local businesses to showcase their products and services, share their good news and make vital new connections.
2022 will be no different.
As businesses continue to evolve and adapt to changing market conditions, many organisations will be looking for opportunities to re-emerge, refocus and re-engage with the local business community. That’s what Love Business is all about, bringing small businesses together with grant funding agencies, business support organisations, universities and colleges to help move the Heart of the Midlands forward and celebrate each-others success.
We have a few surprises lined up for 2022’s event, and if nothing else, it will be a great day out of the office where you can catch up with friends old and new.
After the past two years, that’s something we can all look forward to, so we look forward to seeing you there.
