Miller Homes invests over £540,000 into Nottinghamshire village

Miller Homes is set to invest over £542,800 into the community of Gedling, as part of its upcoming development, Bonington Grange.

Located on the outskirts of Nottingham, the neighbourhood will offer 120 two, three and four-bedroom homes, 24 of which will be affordable housing.

Situated off Burton Road in Gedling and just 20-minutes’ drive outside of Nottingham’s bustling city centre, the new neighbourhood is set to launch in early 2022 when the first release of homes will be available to purchase ahead of the showhome opening in summer.

The majority of the funds set to be contributed by the housebuilder will be invested into the community’s educational facilities, including £453,625 which is earmarked for supporting a local secondary school and £4,228 which will go to Carlton Library for additional books.

To encourage residents to get outdoors, recreational green spaces will be created at Bonington Grange, including a new children’s play area.

A further £65,025 is set to be invested into improving infrastructure and enhancing capacity at local medical practices. Additional contributions are also to be made towards the improvement of transport links including bus stops, connecting new residents to essential services such as primary healthcare facilities in the community.

Commenting on the investment, Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands, said:

“Creating welcoming and well-connected communities for our residents is always at the forefront of our minds when establishing new neighbourhoods such as Bonington Grange. Particularly in the last year, the importance of having access to good healthcare, educational facilities and green spaces cannot be underestimated. That’s why we’re delighted to be improving Gedling’s current facilities, future-proofing the village for new and existing residents.

“Gedling has a great selection of cafés, traditional pubs and restaurants on offer, and is surrounded by large, picturesque green spaces including Gedling Country Park, making it an ideal place to live for those who dream of a blend of urban and rural living. Situated on the edge of Nottingham, residents will have convenient access to commuter links into the city centre and beyond.”

Alastair added:

“Bonington Grange will join the selection of successful neighbourhoods we already in our East Midlands portfolio and in particular, across Nottinghamshire, including Spinners Croft in Keyworth. Nottingham has proven to be a great location for a range of househunters, from first-time buyers and commuters right through to downsizers, so we’re confident that Bonington Grange will receive the same level of interest.”
