Clegg Group secures contract with global aerospace supplier as it looks to future growth

The relocation of a listed aerospace and defence sector manufacturer is well underway thanks to the support of construction specialist Clegg Group.

Clegg has been appointed as the principal contractor for the project by the FTSE 100 company Meggitt, which is moving to a new site in Antsy Park, Coventry. The work includes the fit-out of a new manufacturing facility, completed in two phases, and will see the Clegg team modify its new facility to receive production equipment that will be transferred over from the old site.

Progress is underway at the 440,000 sq ft site, which will house an R&D hub as part of the project and will create up to 1,000 jobs. The innovative facility will aim to combine a range of operations – such as aircraft braking systems, control systems, customer services and support and corporate shared services – all within a leading aerospace engineering and technology environment.

The facility will be a hub for next-generation aerospace innovation, as well as a catalyst for world-class operational performance.

Oliver Jenkins, business development manager at Clegg said:

“We’re very excited to be selected for such a fantastic project, supporting industry leaders Meggitt. This marks a moment in history for the Clegg Group team, and we are pleased to play a part in Meggitt’s continued success for the future.”

The milestone move will be Meggitt’s largest global infrastructure project, as the firm looks to position itself for further growth.
