Buses proudly displaying the Poppy

trentbarton is showing its support for the men and women who served their country by proudly displaying poppies on 300 buses and coaches during this year’s appeal by The Royal British Legion.

trentbarton is donating £500 to The Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal: britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/poppy-appeal

Legion representative Brian Brown, 85, from Ilkeston, said:

“Last year the appeal was badly affected by the Covid pandemic, so it is vital we have a good 2021. It’s very important this Poppy Appeal raises as much money as possible."

Brian, who has been involved with the Legion for more than 40 years, said:

“We had a very good start on the first Saturday. And with the help of trentbarton, we are starting off on the right foot.”

Brian, originally from Nottinghamshire, was in the Royal Army Service Corps for nine years before joining the Territorial Army for 17 years. He said:

“The Poppy Appeal lasts for two weeks but the support the Legion provides is 24 hours, all year round.

“That’s why every penny donated helps. We’re always so pleased to see the generosity of the public. And having the poppies on the buses really does help too.”

Jeff Counsell, trentbarton managing director, said:

“We are very proud to display the poppies on our buses to show our support for our veterans. It is vital their sacrifices are never forgotten and the Royal British Legion is there to help.”
