VICTORIA CENTRE MARKS NOTTINGHAMSHIRE DAY BY CELEBRATING ITS ‘HOMEGROWN’ BUSINESSES

Nottingham’s leading retail destination, Victoria Centre, is marking the very first by celebrating the local talent on offer in the centre.

Organised by Nottinghamshire County Council, the event has been created to highlight and promote local businesses and organisations that help make up the identity, culture and local traditions of the county.

To mark the occasion and rally support from the Nottinghamshire community, Victoria Centre has compiled a list of its ‘homegrown’ retailers.

Speaking about Nottinghamshire Day, centre director, Nigel Wheatley, explains:

“As a Nottinghamshire-born man myself, I’m delighted there’s now an official day in the calendar to celebrate all that makes this county unique. It’s a fantastic opportunity for all of us to take stock, reflect on the difficulties we’ve come through, and celebrate together the strength and resilience of those living and working in Nottinghamshire.

“Victoria Centre is at the very heart of retail in Nottingham’s city centre, and we’re thrilled to provide our shoppers with access to a wide variety of unique, local retailers - from locally-made sweet treats and biscuits for our furry friends, to streetwear and home decor that’s one-of-a-kind, our Nottinghamshire retailers put a lot of pride into the goods and services they provide to deliver something truly special for our shoppers each time they visit.

“We’re also always on the look-out for ways we can support the wider community, and we hope this inaugural event will bring all Nottinghamshire residents together and encourage the community to support our homegrown retail talent, now and in the future.”
