Printing specialist extends its reach as it acquires firm to add to its portfolio

LG Davis (stationers) Ltd is looking to further expand into the commercial print and office world with the acquisition of printer Positive Print.

LG Davis, which has been based in Birmingham for nearly six decades, supports businesses across the UK with everything from print, design and branded merchandise to personalised workwear, stationery and office furniture.

Its clients include local NHS Trusts across the East Midlands including the University Hospital of Derby and Burton. The recent acquisition will enable the firm to extend its reach across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

Its merger with Positive Print, which has been run by husband and wife duo David and Alison Heath for the past eight years, allows LG Davis to expand their reach in the industry.

It also follows a number of other acquisitions over the past few years – including Sabell and Co last year - which enabled LG Davis Solutions to become one of only a handful of printers in the country able to offer custom designed manilla folders and filing solutions.

Talking about the latest acquisition Liz Smith, Managing Director at LG Davis and the daughter of Ron O’Donnell who founded the company in 1962, said it was part of a commitment to continue to drive LG Davis to the forefront of Midlands printing.

She said: “LG Davis is committed to delivering first class printing and office solutions across the Midlands and beyond. Our recent growth and series of acquisitions has allowed the company to invest in extra machinery to increase capacity and enhance our inhouse services.

“We are delighted that we have been able to work with Positive Print to merge our two businesses. I have known Dave and Alison personally for many years and our companies have always shared the same ethos – to put our customer first – so the acquisition is a great opportunity to enhance the offer here in the Midlands.”

The latest acquisition for LG Davis is the seventh merger in the past six years, bringing in extra capacity and resources for the print and office specialists.

Positive Print was based in Kings Norton and had been run by husband and wife duo David and Alison Heath for the past eight years. The printing firm, which specialised in supporting commercial Midlands based businesses has brought not only its expertise with its staff transferring over but also additional wide format equipment increasing the inhouse capacity at LG Davis.
