BARRATT HOMES SITE MANAGER IN HUGGLESCOTE RECOGNISED AS BEST IN THE COUNTRY FOR QUALITY

BARRATT HOMES SITE MANAGER IN HUGGLESCOTE RECOGNISED AS BEST IN THE COUNTRY FOR QUALITY

Martyn Griffiths (32), based in Hugglescote, has been recognised by the National House Building Council (NHBC) for his work onsite, marking him down among the best in the UK.

Known as the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”, the prestigious Pride in The Job Quality awards identify the finest Site Managers from around the country.

Martyn, originally from Stoke-on-Trent, has earned the accolade for the high standards set at the Grange View development in Hugglescote.

Having worked for Barratt Homes for over seven years, this is his second consecutive Pride in the Job Quality award.

Martyn said:

It’s brilliant to be recognised for a second successive year and this award feels even more special after the constraints we’ve faced over the past 12 months.

“An achievement like this is a credit to everyone’s hard work onsite and we’ve been quite fortunate to keep working due to the excellent safety measures that have been in place.

“Grange View has progressed greatly over the past year and it’s nice to see more customers moving in and providing positive feedback. It really feels like a community now.

“I’d like to thank Shane De-Hayes (Assistant Site Manager) and Rob Taylor (Contracts Manager) for their ongoing support.”

In total, parent company Barratt Developments’ Site Managers won 93 Pride in the Job Quality awards this year. This is the 17th year in a row that Barratt has won more awards than any other housebuilder, showing its long-term commitment to building high quality homes.

These awards, now in their 41st year, rate Site Managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role Site Managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.

Every Site Manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from 11,000 entrants, showing how difficult they are to win.

These awards come off the back of a Barratt Homes Site Manager being crowned the overall winner in last year’s awards. Kirk Raine, Senior Site Manager, won the supreme award, the fifth time in the last six years that a Barratt Site Manager has won the top prize.

Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said:

“These awards showcase only the best new homes and well-run sites. By winning so many awards it demonstrates that we are building some of the highest quality homes in the country.

“It also shows the long-term commitment we have to looking after our customers and making them happy. No other housebuilder can match our record at the NHBC Pride in the Job Quality awards.”

There awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated five star means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt being the only major national housebuilder to be rated five star for 12 years in a row.

The housebuilder is currently taking appointment-only viewings at Grange View for buyers to visit and view first-hand the exceptional quality of its properties.
