Double whammy for KH Hair as two stylists progress to regional finals of top hairdressing competition

KH Hair is celebrating as two of its stylists have been chosen from thousands of hairdressers across the UK to compete in the semi-finals of a major industry competition.

Wella’s TrendVision is a competition designed to find the very best hairdressing talent in the UK. Asha Lahel (20) from Chellaston, who works at KH Hair St Peters in Derby, and Egginton’s Olivia Lara Evans (19) a stylist at the Group’s Tutbury salon, were chosen after competing in online photographic rounds earlier this year.

Olivia is through to the next stage in the ‘Colour Artist’ category and says she really couldn’t believe it when her name was announced at the virtual event held earlier this month.

“I was speechless!” she says. “I’m very proud of myself for getting through the next stage.  It just goes to show that if you put the hard work in, the outcome will be worth it.”

Asha, who has gone through in the ‘Editorial Look’ category, says she was equally shocked.

“I couldn’t believe it.” she says.  “I was sitting with my parents, and we were all so excited.  I rang my salon director, Nicki, straight away who was absolutely over the moon.”

Asha and Olivia are now invited to compete in the Digital UK semi-finals taking place between 14 June and 20 July and KH Hair Group's managing director, Darren Messias, says he is very proud of the pair.

“TrendVision is a hotly-fought competition and to get through to the semi-finals is a fantastic achievement. I wish them all the very best for the next stage.”

If successful, Asha and Olivia will progress to the UK finals which will be held in October.
