OPUS TRUST SETS £20,000 TARGET TO SUPPORT OXYGEN FOR INDIA EMERGENCY APPEAL

Opus Trust Communications, the omnichannel communications specialist headquartered in Leicester, has launched a Just Giving Pagewith a target of £20,000, which courtesy of its owner and chairman, Peter De Haan, will be match-funded by the Peter De Haan Charitable Trust, to raise funds for the British Asian Trust Oxygen for India Emergency Appeal.

As news is shared that the daily COVID cases in India are the highest on record for any country, with over 20 million cases so far and 300,000 deaths, the business has committed to raising as much as it can to help with the efforts.

Chief Executive Officer for Opus Trust Communications, Tony Strong, comments:

“Hearing about the devastating news from India, we simply couldn’t turn our backs. Instead, we decided to launch a collective effort to raise money to fund and deploy oxygen concentrators to be used in hospitals and for patients most in need.

“We would like to thank thePeter De Haan Charitable Trust for offering to match fund the donations up to £20,000. This will make a significant difference and knowing that £830 will help up to support 550 people that are most illprovides some context.

“We are urging all of our customers, suppliers and competitors within the industry to come together and to support this cause.”

As an alternative to oxygen cylinders, concentrators work by recycling oxygen from the air and delivering it to the patient. Each unit can produce enough oxygen for 50 people.
