Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

MARKET-LEADING chilled pastry producer Addo Food Group is encouraging its employees to take time out of their working week, to volunteer for charitable causes, following the launch of its first employee volunteering scheme earlier this month (April 21).

The scheme, which stems from the business’ long-standing commitment to supporting local social issues, follows a successful year of fundraising for the savoury pastry manufacturer, including £22,800 of employee fundraising and colleagues generating 44,000 hours of responsible business activity during 2020.

The initiative is open to all employees and will enable team members to take time away from their working week to get involved in a range of activities, including donating professional skills to community projects or charities, employee fundraising initiatives, supporting local schools with education and career activity and physical or skills-based team challenges.

Deborah Bolton, CEO of Addo Food Group, said:

“At Addo Food Group, our core purpose is to provide a great place to work for our colleagues, giving back to those who need it the most is a vital part of our company ethos and we believe in providing our workforce with the best opportunities to grow and progress, both personally and professionally. Our employee volunteering scheme is an effective and powerful way for us to invest in our people as well as improving the lives of those within our communities.

“Across our five sites, we widely recognise that employee volunteering provides a range of benefits to our workforce and business. By enabling and encouraging our employees to donate their time, during their working week, will not only support our communities but also further our employee’s wellbeing.

“This scheme will play an important part in the future of our business, highlighting our key values of doing the right thing and operating with integrity. This work not only allows us to address social issues and support causes that are closest to our employee’s hearts, but it also inspires and engages local stakeholders to get involved.”
