TWYCROSS ZOO BOOSTED BY DONATION FROM AMAZON

Twycross Zoo in Atherstone has received a donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre team in Kegworth.

The Amazon team donated £500 to the zoo to help it continue educating school children through its renowned curriculum-linked projects when lockdown restrictions have lifted.

Twycross Zoo is an award-winning conservation charity with an engaging schools programme. The Zoo has around 500 animals of almost 100 species, as well as many endangered animals.

Celia Syme, Site Leader at Amazon in Kegworth, said:

“We’re pleased to support Twycross Zoo with this donation. It’ll be great for the zoo to welcome pupils back to its education programme.”

Neil Dorman, Curator of Twycross Zoo added:

“We’d like to thank Amazon in Kegworth for their generous donation to our conservation charity. This donation will help us continue our vital conservation efforts and educate the next generation on the endangered species that share our planet.”

Twycross Zoo received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic breakfast and delivering more than three and a half million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
