Blue Light Card, the UK’s leading specialist discount service for the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces, has announced a record 60 hires in the 12 months leading up to March 2021, creating a variety of jobs in Loughborough and the East Midlands.

The new appointments mark a significant year of growth for Blue Light Card, which is currently partnered with 15,000 retail partners. As a result of the new hires, Blue Light Card has increased its job force by 152% in the last year.

New recruits include Vicky Norrish, who has joined the team as Chief Financial Officer. Vicky brings 25 years of experience to the role and will be responsible for managing the financial, people and legal aspects of the business. Kim Boot has assumed the role of Head of People, Culture and Talent, as Blue Light Card looks to continue to focus on its first-class employee experience.

Blue Light Card has also appointed Alex Gray, as Head of Data Insights and Analytics. Alex will be responsible for working across the business to ensure the team can utilise its data to make better-informed decisions for members and partners alike. Alex’s appointment follows hot on the heels of Sarah Taylor who joined as Campaign Marketing Manager last year, bringing with her a wealth of brand and marketing experience.

William Campbell-Lamerton has taken on the role of Partnerships and Operations Manager for Blue Light Tickets, a new side of the business which allows the blue light community to enter ballots to get free tickets to a number of events across the UK.  Joachim Shotter and Sajhd Hussain have both joined Blue Light Card as UI and UX developers, bringing more than 20 years of design experience to the company.

The team has also welcomed a raft of staff in other roles, including 17 new customer service executives and further additions to the technology, partnerships and HR and people teams.

Commenting on the recent recruits, Tom Dalby, CEO of Blue Light Card, said:

“NHS, emergency services and social care workers have always been the backbone of our communities, but this has been made even clearer over the last year, as they have been the ones we’ve all turned to amidst the pandemic to keep the world moving.

“Support for the nation’s frontline workers is at the core of what we do at Blue Light Card and these new appointments will enable us to continue doing what we do best - offering bigger and better discounts and freebies to those who work hard to keep us safe and supported. It’s a really exciting time to be part of the team at Blue Light Card, as our growing team keeps working hard to help those who go furthest for us.”
