Derbyshire craft business unveils outdoor workshops plans to brighten up the summer.

Spring has arrived, and with the days getting longer and lockdown restrictions easing, Hilton based craft business Crafty You Crafty Me has launched their 2021 series of Craft in the Park workshops.

From the 4th May, craft workshops will take place on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday evenings in Hilton Park and include a range of crafts including needle felting, mosaics, punch needle embroidery and felt garland. Due to its relaxing nature the interest in craft is continuing to rise and with people keen to get back out socialising again the sessions are expected to prove popular.

The outdoor workshops were the idea of Crafty You Crafty Me Founder Sarah Hodgkinson who says

“When I launched Crafty You Crafty Me my aim was to make craft accessible to a wide range of people. We launched Craft in the Park last summer as a way of bringing people together to craft when social activities were limited and they turned out to be hugely successful with people coming from as far away as Matlock and Ashby. ”

“After the positive reaction to the workshops last year I’m so glad that we’re able to return and after a winter of being stuck inside at home, I can’t wait to get back out crafting in the fresh air. Our range of workshops has grown over the winter and I’m excited to be bringing new crafts to the community alongside the old favourites.”

Emma Cooper from Hilton attended 2 of the workshops last summer and commented

“I really enjoyed craft in the park. Such a unique opportunity to do craft and be outdoors (both things I love!). I have attended 2 so far and can’t wait to book again.”

In addition to the twice weekly workshops in Hilton there are also 4 special workshops at Tutbury Castle in the diary from May to August and plans also being worked up to launch a range of indoor workshops in the Autumn.

Crafty You Crafty Me has been going from strength to strength since its launch last July. Having been acclaimed as a highly commended new business and part of their Galaxy of Rising Stars in the recent Marketing Derby awards it is now shortlisted for the Mainframe Derby Make and Trade award. In addition to the upcoming craft workshops there is also an exciting and popular range of craft kits which are now also available as wholesale as well as direct from their website.
