Derby merger brings new growth for connectivity and communications

Derby communications and business telecoms provider EVAD further cements its plans for growth in the region as they join forces with longstanding city mobile phone firm Century Mobile.

The company, which specialises in supporting business communication across video, voice and data, is to take over independent city firm Century Mobile as part of an agreed merger. The move, which is part of ongoing growth plans for innovative tech firm EVAD, will provide clients with a whole host of additional integrated communication solutions.

EVAD CEO Matt Hill said: “As a company we are keen to grow and support local businesses. Derby has always been a place which means a lot to us and we have strong connections with the community and businesses in the region.

“We have worked with Century Mobile and for a number of years now so when Scott was looking to retire it seemed the ideal opportunity for EVAD to support the business going forward.

“It is an exciting time for the company, and we look forward to continuing the longstanding relationships already built, as we offer our innovative, integrated approach to telecommunications in Derby.”

As a leading provider of business communication solutions EVAD already support key Derby clients including the NHS, Ward and Derbyshire Cricket Club, and are passionate about supporting community projects in the region being sponsors for Derbyshire Cricket Club too.

Talking about the merger Scott Harrhy former CEO at Century Mobile, who started the company 7 years ago and will retire at the end of the month, said the merger would benefit clients as Century Mobile was ready to evolve and provide a more integrated approach to communications, something he was confident EVAD would deliver.

Scott, who has nearly three decades of mobile telecoms experience, said: “The business has been built with great customer service at its heart.

“It is a commitment I know that EVAD share which is why I am confident in the future of the business and excited by the new dimension EVAD will bring with its fully integrated approach.

“It has been a pleasure to work with all of my clients and I look forward to seeing the business now grow under EVAD’s leadership.”

The news comes just weeks after the EVAD team moved from Staffordshire to CUBO, at The Old Post Office, in Victoria Street, as part of plans to expand their reach in the region.

The merger will see EVAD offer its new clients, the majority of which are Derby based, the opportunity to benefit from a fully integrated approach to business communication rather than specialising in only mobile communication. owner Keith Kurran, who will continue to be the service provider, welcomed the move after having worked alongside both EVAD and Century Mobile for the past 5 years.

He said: “Century and EVAD were among the first Partners to join Both businesses share values similar to our own, which has enabled us to build an impressive portfolio of customers who reap the benefits of our partnership. I am looking forward to supporting Matt as he brings these customers together under the extremely capable care of the EVAD team, and wish Scott all the very best for a relaxing retirement that he has worked extremely hard for."

EVAD is an independent business communication service which supports companies in offering technical solutions which work across multiple sites. They are leaders in offering a flexible and integrated approach to voice, video and data helping businesses to provide flexible working solutions between office or work sites and home working.
