Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

An upcoming Miller Homes development in Allestree, Derby is set to create up to 110 new jobs for local tradespeople working across the East Midlands.

Located on Kedleston Road, work on Kedleston Grange began in August last year, with the first phase comprising 151 homes. When all phases are complete, the development will feature 400 properties in total, including a selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, and one and two-bedroom apartments.

Construction of the new neighbourhood will provide employment opportunities for a wide range of workers in the region including electricians, plumbers, joiners, scaffolders and bricklayers.

Explaining more about Miller Homes’ commitment to creating new jobs and investing in the local community, Alastair Parsons, Area Sales Director for Miller Homes Midlands, said:

“Working with the local community is a key part of any new neighbourhood we launch. For us, it’s not just about bringing new homes to the area, it’s also about having the opportunity to provide employment for skilled local tradespeople and doing our bit to support the regions we build in through investment in local services and education such as The Ecclesbourne School.

“As one of our larger developments, featuring 400 homes built over a number of phases, we’re pleased Kedleston Grange will be able to help to create such a large number of jobs, especially during what is an exceptionally difficult time for so many.”

Miller Homes will also be opening the doors to its Oxford showhome at the Kedleston Grange development from Saturday 6th March. Local house hunters wishing to take a look around the showhome will be able to make an appointment online or over the phone to book a visit.

Alastair adds:

“With more people working from home than ever before, this year we’ve seen lots of house hunters looking to swap city life for suburban living and as a result we’ve already received lots of interest for the first phase of this development. Allestree is a great place to live, with easy access to the city, Allestree Park and Kedleston Hall. And, with Kedleston Grange located in the catchment area for Ecclesbourne School - it’s easy to see why it’s such a sought after area.”

Miller Homes announced in autumn last year that it is investing more than £3M into local services, Markeaton Park and the Ecclesbourne School as part of its commitment to the community following the launch of Kedleston Grange.
