A Wingerworth primary school has received a donation of over £3,500 > from the team at Amazon’s Chesterfield fulfilment centre. >
The Amazon team wanted to support Deer Park Primary School as many > children did not have devices at home to allow them to continue their > schoolwork while not in the classroom. The donation has covered the > cost of 30 Kindle devices and covers. >
Amazon has also created free resources > https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/in-the-community/home-schooling-resources-for-parents-carers-and-children-during-lockdown for > teachers, parents and carers to keep children learning while away from > school. >
Speaking on the donation, Richard Cowlishaw-Ellison, Site Leader at > Amazon Chesterfield, said: >
“At Amazon, we’re passionate about the development of children’s > education and we’re pleased to support Deer Park Primary School with > this donation of Kindle devices to help the pupils with their > home-schooling.” >
Headteacher Simon Beardall, from Deer Park Primary School added: >
“I want to say a huge thank you to the team from Amazon for this kind > donation. It’s essential children are given the right resources to > help them continue schoolwork seamlessly during remote learning. These > Kindle devices will be a great help to many children at Deer Park.” >
Deer Park Primary School received the donation as part of the “Amazon > in the Community” programme, whereby the company supports the > communities around its operating locations across the UK. >
