HOSPITAL CHARITY BOOSTED BY DONATION FROM AMAZON TEAM

A Nottingham-based hospital charity has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Kegworth.

Nottingham Hospitals Charity works with people, volunteers, patients, businesses and NHS staff to raise money for additional support for the hospital, such as the latest specialist equipment and new facilities.

The donation from the Amazon team will go towards the Renal Unit at City Hospital.

Commenting on the donation, Celia Syme, Site Leader at Amazon in Kegworth, said:

“Nottingham Hospitals Charity is an important charity which provides great support to the people of Nottingham. We are very pleased to support them with this donation.”

Marianne Burchell from Nottingham Hospitals Charity added:

“On behalf of everyone at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, I want to say a big thank you to Celia and the team from Amazon. Donations like this help us to continue to fund improvements in a number of areas, including lifesaving equipment and medical research.”

Nottingham Hospitals Charity received the donation as part of the “Amazon in the Community” programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic breakfast and delivering over 2 million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
