Sky Is The Limit For Derby Recruitment Firm After Record 12 Months Sky

Recruitment Solutions is to open three new UK offices following a “phenomenal” growth in turnover and staff numbers during 2020. The company, based in The Strand, Derby, with additional offices in Ripley and Huddersfield, is planning the three new site launches by the autumn. Locations for the new offices are yet to be revealed while commercial negotiations remain underway. The move follows Sky’s biggest ever year since it was founded in 2014, with 2020 seeing a 50 per cent increase in turnover and similar growth in both staff and client numbers based on the previous year’s figures. Despite the firm’s success in a year plagued by Covid-19, Sky is gearing up for an even better year in 2021, with plans to double its 14-strong workforce by this time next year. David Torrington, managing director at Sky Recruitment Solutions, said: “The last 12 months have genuinely been phenomenal, with 2020 being by far the most successful year we’ve ever had. “We have more staff and clients than we have ever had, and businesses still want to hire, despite the challenges of the pandemic. "But, looking forward, we want to repeat our success in 2021 with another record year.” David said part of Sky’s success was down to the fact that it represents a broad number of industry sectors, from packaging and logistics to manufacturing and waste recycling. “Some sectors have struggled during the pandemic, though others have thrived,” he said. “We’ve succeeded because we don’t have all our eggs in one basket.” He added that the firm had also reaped rewards from increasing its sales and marketing budget during the first lockdown – as well as having a “slice of good fortune” along the way. The company’s latest growth news comes hot on the heels of other expansion plans announced before Christmas. Sky, which specialises in providing personnel for industrial roles, announced the launch of sister brand Capella Professional in Nottingham, which will specialise in office-based recruitment.
