New Year new hire for Macesport as it ramps up work within women’s sport

12.01.21 – Nottingham, UK: Award-winning independent sports communications agency Macesport https://macesport.com/ has brought in the New Year with a new hire to drive its work within women’s sport.

University of Exeter graduate Sabine Trant joins the team as Digital Marketing Executive, working predominantly across Macesport’s growing portfolio of women’s sport clients including the Girls Rugby Club http://girlsrugbyclub.com/, Female Football Fives https://femalefootballfives.com/, The 1 and the School of Kicking https://schoolofkicking.com/.

A keen rugby player herself, Sabine graduated in 2017 with a degree in Art History and Visual Culture before undertaking an MSc in Marketing. Since starting with Macesport, Sabine has begun to manage a number of clients’ social media accounts, creating and scheduling content and supporting on long-term content strategies.

Macesport CEO Ben Thompson, also a University of Exeter alum, says the decision to bring Sabine in-house was in response to the rapid growth of the agency’s social media accounts, the growing demand for meaningful and authentic content and the importance of building strong communities within women’s sport.

“Sabine’s knowledge and understanding of the women’s sport environment is paramount. She’s someone who plays sport, but also has the professional skills and know-how to deliver creative and compelling content. It became clear to us towards the end of last year that we needed someone to manage our digital marketing portfolio full-time, but it was important we found the right person.

“We’re looking forward to growing our work within women’s sport with a team that is truly embedded within the environment and understands the audience. We’re committed to strengthening the women’s sport movement, facilitating brand and athlete partnerships, creating opportunities and raising its profile through our work.”

Alongside working on client accounts, Sabine will also join Maceport Head of Social and Content Dan Cholerton in managing the agency’s athlete accounts as part of its newly established Influencer Network, including former NFL player and BBC Sport pundit Jason Bell, former England international and Harlequins rugby player Rachael Burford and USA Rugby 7s Head Coach Mike Friday.
