Nottingham Business School launches podcast series featuring inspirational insights from business leaders

A new series of podcasts which offer insights into how the leaders of some of the UKs most successful and creative organisations achieve success through innovation has been launched by Nottingham Business School (NBS).

Hosted by Nottingham Trent University Honorary Visiting Professor, Mike Sassi, the podcast will be broadcast every fortnight and will feature local and national leaders and high achievers discussing the lessons they have learned.

The first in the NBS Business Leaders Podcast https://www.ntu.ac.uk/study-and-courses/academic-schools/nottingham-business-school/business-leaders-series series introduces Lee Kidger, Managing Director of Raleigh UK.

Lee took up the role in early 2020 at the age of just 31. Starting his career serving customers in a cycling shop, less than a decade later he now manages the world’s best-known bike brand. In the debut episode of the Business Leaders’ Podcast series, he talks to Mike Sassi about the importance of doing something you love – and of being in the right place at the right time.

Future episodes will feature Pentland Group President EMEA, Charlotte Cox, who led the development of the Canterbury international rugby shirt worn by England at the 2019 World Cup in Japan; Robin Foale, former banking executive with Barclays and Santander; and Sara Blair-Manning, Chief Executive of Nottingham Castle Trust.

Executive Dean of NBS, Professor Baback Yazdani, said: “For many years we have welcomed some of the world’s most successful and innovative business leaders to Nottingham Business School for our annual lecture series. We can’t do this in person this year, so our new podcast series will ensure that we can still hear stories from inspirational leaders – from Nottingham and beyond - and learn from their experiences.”

Mike Sassi added: “Nottingham Business School's fantastic network includes hundreds of leaders who all have interesting stories to tell. For example, few business schools can count the MD of an iconic brand like Raleigh among their students! This podcast will share candid, colourful, real-life stories of how leaders have achieved their success. We also hope it will inspire the innovators and entrepreneurs of the future."//
