Letterbox gift company Colleague Box aims to banish the January Blues with brand-new range of bespoke boxes

A PERSONALISED letterbox gift company set up by a husband and wife when the Coronavirus outbreak was at its peak is helping to banish the January blues with a brand-new range of boxes for 2021.

Colleague Box - the Derby business whose bespoke boxes have been hugely popular with both corporate clients and individuals during lockdown in the UK - has launched the Blue January box; a recyclable gift box jam-packed with sweet and savoury treats and drinks.

They have revamped their popular self-care box – which contains gourmet chocolate bars, a relaxing scented candle and Chill Pill bath bomb; created by fellow Derbyshire business Divine Box - in a bid to spread some much-needed cheer.

And Colleague Box have also created a personalised Veganuary box featuring vegan-friendly goodies such as Skittles and gourmet popcorn.

Creative Director Natalie Bamford said: “Letterbox presents have been hugely popular over the past 12 months for those wanting to send a gift to family and friends whilst social distancing.

“We have been impressed with the innovative way in which the Colleague Box has been adapted by businesses wanting to use them for awards ceremonies or couples hosting a gender reveal party. Our Christmas boxes were a huge hit and we already have exciting plans in place for Valentine’s Day, Easter and Mother’s Day.

“January can be a miserable month and, as we go into another national lockdown, there has never been a more important time to help put a smile on the faces of colleagues, friends or family members.

“Our boxes are all recyclable and feature a personalised message, which can be sent either direct to the office or to individual addresses. They’re the perfect pick-me-up for this time of year.”

Colleague Box is one of the business success stories of 2020. The idea came about when Natalie, a mum of two, was furloughed from her job back in March, as the UK went into a national lockdown.

Within six months, they had turned over £1m, moved into their first commercial property in Derby and taken on staff to cope with demand.

Just two months later, Colleague Box leased a second, bigger warehouse in the city and, last month, they created and distributed 22,500 Christmas-themed boxes for a global delivery company.

They also sold thousands of their festive boxes to businesses and individuals, with £1 from the sale of each one being donated to Derby-based charity Safe & Sound.

“It has been a whirlwind of a year and a steep learning curve,” said Natalie, “and we learn something new every day.

“It’s hard to believe that Colleague Box is still less than 12 months’ old, so much has happened over the past year.

“There have been incredible highs but also some tough times; Christmas was fantastically busy but also fraught at times, as we worked long hours to make sure that our boxes were dispatched in plenty of time.

“We’re optimistic about 2021 and excited to see what the new year brings for Colleague Box.”

Colleague Box offer free UK shipping, and personalisation is also included with each gift box.

Each box is ordered online and for bulk purchases, Colleague Box offer a secure mass upload option. Packaged using sustainable and recyclable materials, the boxes arrive at the door within a few days.
