Dains Burton office raise money for local YMCA foodbank

Generous staff at Dains Accountants in Burton have put their hands in their pockets and raised £180 for the Burton YMCA homeless charity.

Under normal circumstances the staff usually do a food bank for local charities over the Christmas period, with so many people working at home the logistics of organising this became a challenge.  However, kind-hearted staff still wanted to help and decided to have a collection to raise funds for this worthy cause.

John Southwell, the office partner in Burton said

“Everyone has pulled together and managed to raise such vital funds especially considering the difficult times we are currently in.  With the food banks being used more than ever it is imperative they are supported locally, and we are proud to have been able to help”.

At the beginning of December, the shelves were almost bear as the demand on them throughout the pandemic had taken its toll and they were desperate for more supplies.  With the money raised, the YMCA can replenish stock with items for local families to enjoy.

Paula Senior, Fundraising Officer at the YMCA is very grateful for the support

“I would like to say thank you to Dains for their generous donation.  Our food bank service has been a lifeline for many people experiencing hardship and financial loss, and we have experienced the biggest demand for support in the foodbank history.   We would not be able to continue providing the breath of services without the support of our community and friends like Dains”.
