Solmar Villas launch ‘Travel Restrictions Guarantee’ as it targets a brighter 2021

One of the UK’s leading villa companies has launched a new Travel Restrictions Guarantee (TRG) that will help to protect holidaymakers and suppliers against further Covid-19 disruption.

Solmar Villas, which provides properties in more than 33 destinations across Europe, wants to give its clients confidence to book their much-needed breaks, safe in the knowledge they can move dates or receive a holiday voucher for the full amount paid if travel dates are restricted by either FCDO/local Government advice.

The TRG is automatically included in the website price when people are searching for villas and can be removed before you book if you don’t want to take advantage of the added protection.

Bosses at the Burton-upon-Trent firm believe it is another example of its innovative customer service and will help unlock a lot of pent-up demand in 2021 for those long-awaited trips to Croatia, Greece, Spain and Turkey.

The measure comes just a few weeks after it passed the 1000 milestone of available villas on www.solmarvillas.com, an 83% increase in what has been a very challenging twelve months.

“We continue to listen to our clients and the marketplace and the feedback we were getting was the need for additional protection to try to mitigate continually changing travel advice,” explained Julie Blake, Managing Director of Solmar Villas.

“The Travel Restrictions Guarantee will hopefully give holidaymakers that peace of mind, whilst also offering our suppliers some financial protection if things change that are out of their control. I think it will make a major difference to people currently not sure on whether to make that booking or not.”

She continued:

“Covid-19 has been horrific for the travel industry, but we have worked really hard to try to find solutions to clients that have been affected, being one of the few companies to keep inbound calls open throughout the pandemic.

“We also spent a lot of time working with suppliers and this has really paid off, with 1090 beautiful villas now in our portfolio – a massive 83% rise in properties.”

Solmar Villas approach to tackling the pandemic and ensuring the safety of its customers has been recognised at the recent British Travel Awards, with the company winning four Golds in the Best Family Holiday Company, Best Holiday Company to the Iberian Peninsula, Best Holiday Company to East & Southeast Europe and Best Holiday Company to Western Europe & Ireland categories.

They were also successful in the Best Villa Company and Best Holiday Company to Hellenic Europe, securing the Silver and Bronze Awards respectively.

The haul of awards was given to the company for its customer service, innovative finance options and the quality of its properties, with every villa boasting its own private pool, high-quality accommodation and the majority within walking distance of the beach, bars and restaurants.

Julie concluded:

“The vaccine will hopefully bring the travel sector back to life and villas, in particular, will be a very popular type of holiday as they offer that additional space and exclusivity.

“We’re seeing lots of activity on our website and we are expecting an influx of bookings from March next year.”
