East Midlands IT firm branches out after coronavirus boost

IT firm True MSP has launched a new telecommunications division after seeing its growth expectations double during the coronavirus pandemic.

The business, which has just celebrated its third anniversary, has seen a 20% increase in clients this year and is on track to see a 60% year-on-year growth.

Directors Neil Shaw and Tim Rookes say the company, in Castle Donington, has been boosted by the increased demand for their Cloud-based IT services after businesses were forced to quickly shift to remote working when the first national lockdown was announced in March.

It has also seen a rise in firms investing in improved internet connectivity and agile technology, such as laptops and headsets, for employees.

And it is this demand which has prompted them to launch True Connect, which specialises in providing internet-hosted phone systems.

Tim said:

“Launching True Connect is a natural progression for us. During the coronavirus pandemic we found that clients wanted to harness the power of the Cloud, utilising the benefits it brings for remote working.

“But the Cloud doesn’t just bring improvements to IT services, it is a great tool for communications systems and businesses are beginning to realise this. The Hosted Voice Over IP services we offer provide greater flexibility than traditional phone systems and reduce telecoms costs by up to 80%. These benefits speak for themselves.”

True MSP, which has headquarters in Birlea Way, Castle Donington, has a reputation for delivering first-class customer service and it decided to focus on continuing to deliver this during lockdown.

“We made a conscious decision to focus on maintaining our high standards through the first lockdown," said Neil. Supporting our existing clients during these unprecedented times was vital, and took priority over chasing new business.

“This boosted the business because our clients knew they could rely on us and this resulted in them using True MSP to invest more on their IT. But the knock-on effect was we attracted new clients through recommendations, which is testament that our high-quality customer service ethos works.”

Since True MSP was founded in October 2017 it has achieved an average of 30% year-on-year growth.

But Neil and Tim say that 2020 is forecast to see that double to 60%.

They have had to employ a new helpdesk technician, Hayden Blakemore, to help cope with the demand.

Tim said:

“The growth has exceeded our expectations and is showing no signs of slowing up, despite the coronavirus situation continuing. Many of our clients have also experienced increased success during the pandemic, which is refreshing news after continuously hearing about the doom and gloom.

“We anticipate that 2021 will bring us more prosperity.”
