Serena makes national Top 50 Advisers shortlist

A Nottingham-based business finance expert has been shortlisted for major national recognition by one of the UK’s largest small business support networks.

Serena Humphrey, the founder of The F Word Ltd and the creator of the 'F Word Academy' has made the final of the Enterprise Nation Top 50 Advisers Awards.

Serena has been nominated for her work in supporting SMEs across the UK during the first Lockdown, where she launched a not-for-profit Facebook support group which now boasts over 3000 members and her work in creating the ‘‘F Word Academy’’.

The F Word Academy is an online business finance academy, featuring over 100 videos, financial blueprints, templates, interactive advice, accountability, webinars and peer support.

The Top 50 Adviser Awards are run by small business network Enterprise Nation, the UK’s leading support network for small businesses – in association with Xero, Dell Technologies and Neat.

The list was compiled after the awards reached out to fledgling businesses to nominate an adviser that had helped them to build and grow a sustainable business.

Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation said: "Business advisers are the unsung heroes behind Britain’s booming small business culture and their insight and experience are needed now more than ever.

"The awards have uncovered some incredible work that has helped firms take steps towards sustainability and growth or managing the current situation by pivoting and by taking a strategic look at their business."

Serena will now go through to the public vote to find the UK’s Top Ten Advisers later this month.

Speaking about the shortlisting Serena said: "This has come as a complete surprise to me as I didn’t know I was being nominated, let alone making the final shortlist. It is great to see business advisers being recognised for their contribution to the UK economy because right now, solid, strategic and practical advice and support is needed more than ever.

"I launched the F Word Academy to help UK SMEs really get a grip on the money in their business, to get back to basics, master their money and remember why they first started out on the bumpy road of entrepreneurship.

"It is my life’s mission to help business owners not only survive but create the level of financial success and security they deserve for the risk, work and sacrifice it takes to run a business so I am very proud to have been shortlisted for this award."
